Karla De La Riva
Workforce & Business Development Director

Karla De La Riva is the  Director of Workforce and Business Development for the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC).  Ms. De La Riva has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a double concentration in Health Care from Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Grant Writing Certification from the University of Notre Dame, and is a candidate for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification from the International Economic Development Council.

Currently, Ms. De La Riva sits on multiple boards and advisory committees including the International Economic Development Council, RGLNG Community Advisory Board, RGLNG Education Subcommittee, Leadership Brownsville, and Brownsville Toastmasters.

Last year, in conjunction with the GBIC team, Ms. De La Riva led the efforts to secure $4,000,000 in training dollars from the Texas Workforce Commission to support the training needs of companies in Brownsville.  Ms. De La Riva has over eight years of experience as a business executive in the public sector.
