- Keppel AMfels is manufacturing deep sea shipping vessels through the Jones Act. These vessels use hybrid technology powered by Liquid Natural Gas and diesel.
- CK Technologies uses state of the art plastic injection molding machines to produce automotive parts for the commercial truck industry.
Aerospace & Technology
- SpaceX is making historic achievements with Starship at their South Texas Launch Site, also known as Starbase. The advancements they are making in human space flight will one day lead us to Mars and beyond. SpaceX is occupying over 100,000 SF of warehouse/industrial park space at the Air + Space Campus located at the Brownsville/SPI International Airport.
Food Processing
In operation since 1950 in Brownsville, Rich’s is a global leader in the food processing industry. Brownsville residents have been producing high-quality food with second and third-generation family members currently employed at their facility. They have been so successful, that they recently added an additional production line and expanded their facility and added employees. Altogether, nine brands and over 90 food items are processed here in Brownsville, Texas.
Renewable Energy
AYPA Power, a Blackstone portfolio company, developer, owner, and operator of energy storage, renewables, and microgrids in North America, has signed an option to lease with the City of Brownsville. Their focus is to construct and install battery energy storage facilities and other solar photovoltaic electric generation facilities in connection with the generation, storage, conversion and or distribution of electric energy on three(3) acres of land at the Brownsville Air + Space Campus.
Retail, Hospitality & Tourism
The city welcomed over 13,000 businesses between 2019- 2021 in the Retail and Service Sector. Now open in Brownsville: Tesla Service & Delivery Center, La Maquila artisan wholesales, Hobby Lobby, artisan chocolate Raw Xocolat, McAlister’s Deli, high-end market Mercato & Co and fueling station, Nothing BundtCakes, Kuyashii Ramen, SPEC’S Liquor, and The Human Bean Coffee, Black Bear diner.
- The City of Brownsville has a total of 32 hotels/motels, which provide over 2,200 rooms ready to accommodate its guests.
